          eTwinning users, their events, messages, posts, project materials, and everything published on the eTwinning platform must be in line with and comply with the following basic principles, in line with the Core Values and general principles of the European Union.

- Be inclusive. Everyone's thoughts and opinions are always welcomed within the limits set in this Code of Conduct and it is allowed to express them. eTwinning users are guided to look beyond their point of view, to be relevant to different cultures, and to show sensitivity when engaging other users in their activities, projects, groups, and networking activities both online and on-site. eTwinning; It promotes understanding, empathy, and mutual openness to make the community a safe and harassment-free space.

- Be respectful. Members of the eTwinning community should be respectful when dealing with and interacting with their peers. Respecting other people and their activities on this platform and assuming that the motivators behind their actions are in good faith; It make eTwinning users not only comfortable and safe, but also motivated and productive. eTwinning users; Insult, humiliate, or use violence against other members based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender and/or because of their membership in a country, group, or minority.

The important thing is to always seek constructive solutions to disagreements and different opinions within the limits explained and defined in this Code of Conduct and to accept that some situations may cause a "decision not to agree".

- Be polite and approachable in any form of communication, especially remote communication where misunderstanding is more likely. Being kind means being aware of other people, respecting their feelings, and showing that respect. Some of the rules all eTwinning users must follow

 

       eTwinning; It has established some rules that must be followed by all users to make it easier to understand what is and is not allowed on the platform.

1.eTwinning cannot be used for commercial purposes. The use of the platform for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. Any company, entrepreneur, event, or commercial software will be removed and their access to the platform will be blocked.

2. There is no direct threat, bullying or harassment.eTwinning does not tolerate cyberbullying and harassment. If you are a victim of cyberbullying or someone threatens you while using one of the eTwinning domains (public and private domains), please report this by sending a message or contacting your National Support Service. Anyone who cyberbullies or harasses other members of the platform can be permanently banned from eTwinning.

3. Intellectual property Make sure that the content you upload to the platform does not infringe any copyrights. Before sharing any pictures, videos, documents, or other resources; please make sure you have the right to do this. The eTwinning platform cannot host videos - you must first upload your video to YouTube, DailyMotion or Vimeo and paste the corresponding link to eTwinning. Don't forget to check copyright policies too.

4. Identity theft eTwinning users may not imitate other persons or groups / organizations they do not represent in a way that is intended to deceive, confuse, or defraud others.

5. Students (minors) eTwinning takes students' privacy and security seriously. Avoid posting pictures of students on your eTwinning Live profile, TwinSpace, Groups, etc. In cases where you need to post, make sure you have their parents' permission and that students are not recognizable.

6. Private information and Sensitive data Be careful when posting content that interests others. You must not share personal information such as personal phone numbers and addresses, credit card details or other private information, or personal information of other users, or private photos and videos.

 

Internet Ethics

 

     eTwinning users should conduct their online interactions professionally, courteously, and with respect as in real-life interactions. Below are some examples of what users should and should not do.

1. Use the internal messaging system carefully and responsibly. Avoid sending too many messages to teachers you are not working with. Before contacting a user: check their profile; see if it indicates that it is suitable for projects; Make sure your message is relevant. Don't send messages that are exactly the same to too many users.

2. Avoid spamming on forums. Thousands of messages are posted from eTwinning Live partner forums. Make sure, your message is about the subject of the title. Before publishing a new post, check for and reply to any other relevant messages. Help us keep the forums relevant to improve collaboration!

3. Only post comments that are relevant and appropriate to other users' posts.
When posting a comment on someone else's profile, make sure that the comment is appropriate for the user. Comments should be for individuals and related to the user's message. Don't write the same comment to too many users.

4. Avoid random contact requests and project invitations. Avoid asking eTwinning to be your contact person or participate in your project without prior communication. Make sure you have a logical and manageable number of contacts on your list. Would you like to follow other people's updates? Follow them instead.

5. Make the event invitation according to the target audience. If you are unsure that these colleagues can attend, avoid inviting your contacts to events you organize. Random invitations to events organized at your school are considered spam.

 

Violation of the Code of Conduct

 

   What can you do if you think an eTwinning user is not abiding by the Code of Conduct? In the Support Community, we do our best to protect people from abuse and spam in eTwinning, but as an active and pluralistic community, we rely on you to help us maintain a positive attitude and reduce unwanted incidents. Therefore; We encourage eTwinning users to report such situations when necessary. If you encounter posts, events, and comments on the Logs and Forums that you find offensive, infringing on copyright, or inappropriate, receive a private message, or see such content; You can use the "report" button - if possible, you can also contact your Support Service - and share your reasons for reporting. Your message will be handled by Support Services. If one of the users does not respect the Code of Conduct; what happens Failure to comply with the rules set out under this Code of Conduct is a violation of its terms and may result in the temporary or permanent removal of any submissions or materials uploaded by eTwinning users at any time without prior notice. In such cases, the owners of the relevant materials and Support Services will be notified and the reasons for removal will be explained. Users who do not comply with the Code of Conduct may be temporarily or permanently banned from eTwinning. In case of disagreement, a final decision will be taken by the European Commission responsible for the functioning of eTwinning.
